The design for these earrings was inspired by the European Hornet (Vespa crabro). These hornets exhibit a high level of organization of sociality. While generally conflict avoidant, they can be ferocious, particularly in defense of their communal nest.
These lightweight iridescent acrylic earrings shift color and cast changing shadows in the sunlight. Made of lightweight 1mm iridescent acrylic, they are almost weightless and the two wings on each earring flutter independently in a breeze.
Earring hooks are made of solid sterling silver and are hypoallergenic.
