Symbolizing metamorphosis, renewal and rebirth, cicadas emerge above ground at the end of their lifecycle sharing their song and beauty. Earring design was inspired by the Brown Cicada (Graptopsaltria nigrofuscata) found in East Asia.
Handmade by the artist, Adam Borut, these earrings shift color and cast changing shadows in the sunlight. Made of lightweight 1mm iridescent acrylic dipped in clear resin, they are almost weightless and the two wings on each earring flutter independently in a breeze.
Packaged for an engaging and informative unboxing experience as well as easy storage. External sleave provides information and holds the box closed. Internal card is signed and dated by the artist, and contains additional information about the earring the artist and care instructions.
Earring hooks are made of solid sterling silver and are hypoallergenic.
